Golf architect Jeff Mingay is Senior Associate with Rod Whitman Golf Course Design. Mingay has worked in collaboration with fellow Canadian golf architect Rod Whitman since 2001, when construction of Blackhawk Golf Club in suburban Edmonton, Alberta began.
Shortly after the course opened for play, Blackhawk was named second Best New Canadian course by Golf Digest and one of the Best New International courses of the world by The Golfer magazine. Blackhawk currently ranks 21st on SCOREGolf magazine's list of the Top-100 golf courses in Canada.

Mingay participates with every aspect of golf course design and construction -- from routing, budgeting and construction planning to day-to-day construction supervision and feature shaping. He is currently collaborating with Whitman at Sagebrush Golf and Sporting Club (co-designed with Canadian PGA Tour pro, Richard Zokol) in British Columbia; Regina, Saskatchewan's Wascana Country Club; and, Cabot Links, at Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Several other projects are currently in various stages of planning.
Mingay has also worked with American golf architects Mike DeVries and Tim Liddy at projects in the United States and Scotland.
A keen student of the history of golf and course architecture, Mingay is a noted author who is frequently invited to speak at industry functions. His expert essays and articles appear in publications throughout the world, including Golfweek and LINKS in the USA; GOLF CANADA and SCOREGolf in Canada; Golf Course Architecture magazine in the UK; and, the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects' annual journal, Golf Architecture.
Mingay has addressed a number of groups on the subjects of golf course design and construction, including the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association, the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association; the Alberta Golf Superintendents Association; the Atlantic (Canada) Golf Symposium; and, the National Golf Coruse Owners Association (Canada).
